Coming to terms with eating 2.5 lbs of Jolly Ranchers...

I have a 5 lb bag of Jolly Ranchers in my desk and I find myself constantly eating them. I bought them to put out in a candy jar... and I have those out there for people to eat... but I find that I am eating the ones in the bag... I have approximately 2.5 pounds remaining.

I have tried to rationalize my eating of 2.5 lbs of Jolly Ranchers in that they are fat free and low carb... but who am I kidding? There is absolutely no nutritional value in eating a Jolly Rancher... or twenty of them for that matter.

After much research on the subject matter, have come to this conclusion:

If you eat too many Jolly Ranchers, you will get fat.

My solution is simple:
After I finish the remaining 2.5 pounds... I won't ever buy the 5 pound bag again... the 16 oz bag will be sufficient.

i like that your rationalization takes as a given that you will not dispose of the remaining 2.5 pounds or give them to your students, but will in fact consume them and then change your behavior in the future (this sounds plan sounds very familiar to my girl scout cookie plan, finish off the box quickly and never buy them again, but of course you must finish the box)

I feel your pain... I don't allow myself to buy ANYTHING in bulk. (except toilet paper of course)

Of course one must finish off the bag or the box. One must not waste after all. ;)

However, for me, the ultimate guideline is if my jeans start feeling tight on me, then it's time to eat less. :)

Don't they make your tongue hurt? Eating too many of them always make my tongue hurt.

We had jolly rancher jelly beans this weekend. They were very good!

I don't reccommend putting a "weakness" in your desk. Buy something you don't like that much if you want candy on your desk. ;)

*giggling*

I share your issue. I never buy snacks to have around the house, but HEY! Easter Candy!!!!

Someone gave us Easter Eggs filled with candy. The sooner it's gone, the better for my diet, right?

Did that mean I needed to eat IT ALL yesterday? Apparently.

I'm with Deals - they make my tongue hurt after a couple of them. And I always want to bite into them and then they get stuck to one of my top molars.

I once made the mistake of buying Brian a 5 lb. bag of gummy bears (his favorite). He ate them in 2 days. So much for pacing.

I don't think our bodies digest gummies or jolly ranchers. Ew.
